Welcome to the pack
Our story
Our Labrador Retriever journey started nearly 20 years ago with my first Chocolate female, Lola. She was the perfect, most lovable, loyal best friend anyone could have. When we lost her due to a series of illnesses in 2017, I refused to even think about getting another dog knowing we could never find another perfect one like her.
Well then came Covid in 2020 and the house just felt more empty than ever so we started with one Yellow Labrador, she needed a friend (of course) so we welcomed a Black female shortly later that year. Naturally, as everyone around us claimed, we needed to round out the trio with a Chocolate and so we welcomed our third and final, Drake, to the pack. Having three young Labs under three years got us introduced quickly to a group of area Labrador owners who meetup for field training and enjoyment of the outdoors. Sadly last year a close friend of ours lost his battle with cancer which welcomed another seasoned eleven year old Black female into our home. Now we thought we were opening our home to a more elder Lab (as we had seen in the field most times when meeting her before her owner passed), but no, she’s a spitfire enjoys running around with the rest of the pack still!
This takes us to 2024 where we learned just how quick a female in heat can tie as our Black female and Drake tied. A few (very exhausting) months later, we kept two of their six children and the other four are now with all friends of ours. Our original group of field training Labs as grown far more than anyone would have originally expected, but here we are with a very full home of wagging tails and loads of fur.
But where does the “Digital Design” part come in? We’ve always worked in corporate technology roles and with the switch to remote work during Covid, the corporate world changed dramatically. Now we’re looking to set out what our “career 2.0” looks like while taking what we’ve tested and learned over the years to create tools and materials to help all of you. Vacuuming fur and training pups doesn’t seem to keep me busy enough, so I’ve also picked back up quilting and looking forward to sharing templates and designs in the near future as well!
